The last time you asked a parent for a Google review was March. She said "of course," meant it, and never got around to it, because the ask came three weeks after the session she was happy about. Your Google profile shows six reviews. The chain across town shows 85, and it ranks first for the search every parent in your zip code types.

The quieter half of the problem: a family that has two rough sessions in a row rarely calls to complain. They stop booking, and you find out when the package runs out. Gigpie ships one feedback loop that handles both, and it's already running the day you create an account.

## A Rating Prompt Goes Out About 30 Minutes After the Session

About half an hour after each completed session, the family gets an email asking how it went. The stars in that email are links: one tap records the rating, and the page that opens takes an optional comment or a changed star count. That's the whole form. A two-field prompt gets answered; a ten-question survey gets closed.

None of this needs setup: the request is provisioned automatically when your company account is created and is active from day one.

## Five-Star Ratings Route to Google, Trustpilot, or Thumbtack

When a rating meets your threshold, the family is offered direct links to your public review pages, in the order you choose. The default threshold is a perfect five stars, and only five: a 4-star rating never triggers the prompt unless you lower the threshold to 4 or 3 in reputation settings. Repeat asks are throttled: a prompted reviewer waits 30 days by default (configurable, up to 90 days) before being asked again, and you can require a streak of consecutive high ratings first.

This routing is the part most tutoring platforms don't ship. TutorBird, for instance, lets parents submit tutor reviews inside its own portal, with admin approval before publishing (tutorbird.com, as of August 2026). Those reviews stay inside TutorBird. Gigpie's prompt sends a happy parent to the Google review page a prospective family will actually read.

> **Paste your review links first**
>
> Rating collection and low-rating alerts run out of the box, but the review routing sits idle until at least one platform URL exists in reputation settings. Adding your Google review link is the only setup this feature has.

## A Low Rating Emails Every Admin, With the Comment Attached

Any rating below four stars fires an alert to your company admins with the student, the coach, the session, and whatever the family wrote, plus a link to the dashboard. This threshold is fixed and separate from the review-prompt setting, so loosening one never loosens the other. The point is sequencing: you hear about a bad Tuesday session while there's still time to call, before the family quietly decides not to rebook.

> **A week in numbers**
>
> Eight coaches teaching 20 sessions each is 160 completed sessions a week, so Gigpie sends 160 feedback requests that week with nobody drafting an email. If the Tuesday 4pm algebra family taps two stars, every admin has the comment in their inbox as soon as it's submitted. If the Thursday chemistry family taps five, the next screen they see holds your Google review link.

## The Reputation Report Shows the Whole Funnel

The Reputation report adds it all up: feedback volume and average rating against the prior period, the full star distribution, comment rate, and the review funnel itself, from families prompted through clicks on each platform. There's a per-coach breakdown of count, average, and distribution, plus a table of the 50 most recent ratings flagging who was prompted and where they clicked. One limit worth knowing: the report compares the current period to the previous one; it doesn't draw a long-run trend line.

*429 ratings in 30 days, a 4.25 average, and the funnel underneath: 120 families prompted, 5 clicks through to public review pages.*

## Who This Is For

Companies that win or lose on local search get the most from this: when a parent compares three tutoring centers, review count and recency do a lot of the deciding. The prerequisite is a public page to send people to. Without a Google Business Profile, Trustpilot page, or Thumbtack listing, rating collection and low-rating alerts still run, but the routing has nowhere to point. And a solo tutor who talks with every parent at pickup already hears most of this feedback in person; what the automation adds even then is the review ask that conversation never quite gets around to.

## Frequently Asked Questions

## FAQ

**Q:** Do I have to set anything up for this to work?
**A:** The core loop runs with zero setup: the post-session rating prompt and the low-rating admin alert are created automatically with your company account, and both are active by default. The one thing worth configuring is at least one review-platform URL in reputation settings; until then, high ratings are collected but not routed anywhere public.

**Q:** What exactly does a parent see after a session?
**A:** An email about 30 minutes after the session ends, with tappable star links. One tap records the rating and opens a page with an optional comment box. It's a single star rating plus a comment, not a multi-question survey.

**Q:** Can I trigger the review prompt at 4 stars too, or is it 5-star only?
**A:** The default is strict: out of the box, only a 5-star rating triggers the prompt to leave a public review. A dropdown in reputation settings lowers that threshold to 4 or 3 stars if you want more volume. Whatever you choose there, the admin alert stays fixed at anything under 4.

**Q:** Will families get asked to leave a public review after every single session?
**A:** No. The rating request goes out after every completed session, but the public-review prompt is throttled per person: once someone has been prompted, they aren't prompted again for 30 days by default (configurable, up to 90 days), and you can additionally require a streak of consecutive high ratings first.

**Q:** Which review platforms does Gigpie route to?
**A:** Google, Trustpilot, and Thumbtack, exactly those three today. You set the URL and display order for each, and for Trustpilot you can optionally supply its embedded review widget HTML.

**Q:** Could an unhappy family get sent to my Google page?
**A:** No. Ratings below your threshold are never routed to a review platform; the prompt only appears at the threshold you set, which is 5 stars unless you lower it. A low rating goes to your admins instead, with the comment attached.

**Q:** Can a family change their rating later?
**A:** Yes. Feedback stays editable: reopening the feedback page updates the existing rating and comment for that session rather than creating a duplicate.
