Transparent pricing

2% of what you collect. That's the whole price.

No monthly fee, no seat fees, no tiers to compare. This page shows you the actual math: what the 2% is charged on, what Stripe charges, and what you keep.

The rate

One rate, no seat fees

Onboarding support, training resources, and the Gigpie family portal are included at the same flat rate no matter how big you grow.

2%of what you collect

That's it. No bands, no tiers, no bracket math. The same rate applies whether you collect $5,000 or $60,000 this month.

The math

Drag the slider to your monthly collections. The fee is 2% exactly, so the math is short: what you collect, what the platform costs, what you keep.

Collect nothing in a month and the bill is $0. There is no monthly minimum and no seat fee, so the number above is the entire cost at any team size.

What the 2% is charged on

The fee is collected inside Stripe payment processing, not billed separately. There is no invoice from us at the end of the month.

  • Charged on what a family actually pays, after discounts. Sell a $1,000 package with a $100 discount code and the family pays $900; the fee is $18, not $20.
  • Installments are charged as each payment clears. A $2,400 package split into three payments carries a $16 fee on each $800, and a payment that is never collected carries no fee.
  • Manual payments carry no fee. A check or the cash a parent hands you at pickup never touches Stripe, so there is nothing for the 2% to apply to.
  • Refunds return the fee in proportion, automatically. Refund half of a payment and half of its fee comes back; refund all of it and the whole fee comes back.

A two-installment plan, $1,000 each: one paid, one scheduled for autopay. The 2% applies to each $1,000 as it is collected, not to the full sale upfront.

Stripe's fees are separate

Card payments cost Stripe's standard rate of about 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction; pay-by-bank (ACH) costs 0.8%, capped at $5 no matter how large the payment.

On a $1,000 paymentCardPay-by-bank
Stripe processing$29.30$5.00
Gigpie's 2%$20.00$20.00
You keep$950.70$975.00

Read the bottom row again: the $24.30 gap between card and bank processing is larger than the $20 platform fee. Every family who pays by bank instead of card saves you more than the 2% costs, at any payment size, and larger payments save more because the bank fee stops at $5. The full math lives on the pay-by-bank page.

You can also pass processing costs to families as a configurable surcharge, and the 2% applies to the gross amount charged: a family paying $1,030 with a card surcharge included carries a $20.60 fee, not $20.

Slow months cost you almost nothing

Tutoring and coaching are seasonal. In a quiet month your bill shrinks with your revenue, and in a month where you collect nothing it is zero, with no monthly minimum and no pause fee. A subscription bills you while you are setting up, on vacation, or between semesters; a percentage does not. Everything keeps working, and families can still book September sessions in July.

Free until you collect revenue

You get the full product with no card on file and no trial countdown: packages, scheduling, the parent portal, CRM, and payroll. The first money we make is 2% of the first payment a family makes to you. If Gigpie never earns you revenue, it never costs you anything.

Switching in, and leaving

We help you migrate from any platform, custom import work included: email support@gigpie.com and we will plan the move with you. Leaving works the same way: there is no contract and no termination fee, and your user list and payroll records export to CSV. Email us and we will help you wind down.

FAQ

Pricing questions, answered

What counts as "collections"?

The gross amount a family pays you through Gigpie: the post-discount package price plus any processing surcharge you pass along. Discounts reduce the fee because they reduce what you collect. Payments you record manually, like cash or checks, never run through Stripe and carry no fee.

Is Stripe's processing fee included in the 2%?

No. Stripe charges its standard processing rates on top: about 2.9% plus $0.30 per card transaction, or 0.8% for pay-by-bank, capped at $5 no matter the payment size. Every platform that processes payments has the same processor cost underneath its advertised price; ours is just written down here. You can pass processing costs to families as a configurable surcharge.

What happens in a month where I collect nothing?

You pay nothing. The fee is a percentage of collections, so no collections means no fee. There is no monthly minimum, no platform invoice, and nothing to pause or freeze. Your account and your families' portal access keep working.

Are there really no seat fees?

Really. Educator accounts are unlimited at every size, so adding your ninth or twenty-first coach changes your bill by zero dollars. Your cost only moves when your revenue moves.

How do refunds affect the fee?

The fee is returned in proportion to the refund, automatically. Refund half of a payment and half of its fee comes back; refund all of it and the full fee comes back. You do not pay 2% on money you gave back.

What is pay-by-bank and what does it cost?

Pay-by-bank lets families pay by ACH bank transfer with instant account verification instead of typing card numbers. Processing costs Stripe's standard 0.8%, capped at $5 per transaction no matter the payment size, against roughly 2.9% plus $0.30 for cards. Gigpie's 2% applies either way. On a $1,000 payment, pay-by-bank saves about $24.30 in processing.

How does the fee work on installment plans?

The 2% is charged on each installment as it is collected, not on the package price upfront. A $2,400 package split into three $800 payments carries a $16 fee per payment. If an installment is waived or never collected, no fee applies to it.

Do you take 2% of payments I collect outside Gigpie?

No. The fee is collected as part of Stripe payment processing. A check or cash payment you record manually never passes through Stripe, so there is nothing for the fee to apply to. We think the online flow is worth using anyway: autopay and balance tracking come with it.

How does the price compare to other tutoring software?

Every tool in this category prices differently: monthly subscriptions, per-tutor seat fees, or a percentage like ours. The comparison pages have the exact math against each competitor, with their published pricing and the break-even points worked out.

What does "free until you collect revenue" include?

The whole product. Scheduling, packages, the parent portal, CRM, payroll, and reports, with no card on file and no trial countdown. The first fee happens when the first family payment clears through Stripe. Until money moves, Gigpie costs nothing.

How do I migrate from my current platform?

We do the import work with you no matter which platform you are coming from, including custom imports when your data needs them. A full migration typically takes a few weeks, and the help is included. Email support@gigpie.com to plan it.

What happens if I want to leave?

There is no contract and no termination fee. Since there is no subscription, there is nothing to cancel mid-cycle; you stop taking payments through Gigpie and the fees stop with them. Your user data and payroll records export to CSV. Email support@gigpie.com and we will help you wind down.
